Xaymountry Residential takes a number of measures that cares for the destination, this includes:
- Trying to minimise the use of water and detergents thereby only changing bed linen after guests check out, or upon guest request. This not only reduces water consumption and cuts down on detergent use and pollution, but also preserves the life of the linen.
- Treating water with charcoal instead of chemicals. Water used throughout the property is tank water collected from rain or when necessary, the river. Water is treated with charcoal instead of harsh chemicals.
- Contributing to local schools and temples. Every 2 or 3 years, the owners of Xaymountry Residential gives donations to both the local primary schools for much needed repairs and materials, as well as the 2 local temples for restoration, maintenance and the building of a sealed road that leads up to the northern temple. These donations have been acknowledged with plagues in the temple and the naming of the sealed road in honour of the family.
Xaymountry Residential guesthouse is a lovely, large Lao house raised on stilts with a big communal balcony at the front where guests can relax on furniture under ceiling fans and take in the peaceful ambiance of Don Khone.
